About Rubik

A UX design process you can defend.

What Rubik is, where it stands today and who is building it.

The product

What Rubik is

Rubik is a web application that guides you through a complete UX design process and validates every deliverable against published principles: Nielsen Norman Group, the Interaction Design Foundation, WCAG, the Laws of UX, Stanford d.school and Material Design, among others. Every finding comes with its source cited.

You start with a 14-question brief and Rubik works out the process that fits your project, from a short sprint to a complete multi-month process. At each step it tells you what to do, the AI reviews what you deliver and Rubik grades it against explicit criteria.

It doesn't design for you. Rubik doesn't replace your judgment: it structures and verifies it. And when a source is missing, it says so instead of making one up.

Why it exists

Consistency is a process problem, not a talent problem.

Design systems keep the result consistent. Nothing keeps the way of getting there consistent.

Decisions get scattered

They live in heads, Figma files and Slack threads, so every project rebuilds patterns from memory, and memory diverges.

Without criteria, everything is opinion

Without an explicit reference, whether a deliverable is good depends on who looks at it. Rubik puts the criteria in writing, with a source.

Generic AI improvises

AI tools often cite principles that don't exist or that distort the source. Rubik validates against a reviewed knowledge base.

Where it stands today

Rubik is free for now and works end to end, but it's a young product: I keep tuning it with real use by designers.

What you can do today

Limits and what's next

  • The free plan doesn't limit the number of projects and includes 50 AI assists per month. If you need more, write to hello@rubikscube.io.
  • Rubik is available in Spanish and English; projects and deliverables stay in the language you create them in.
  • Access is individual: there's no teamwork within a single project yet.

Manuel Hurtado Vanegas

I've spent nine years designing high-volume transactional products: e-commerce, fintech and banking journeys, where a small UX decision can move adoption, trust or conversion.

At Mercado Libre I was a Senior UX Designer between 2022 and 2026. I redesigned the entry point for new buyers, with +25% conversion and +8% engagement in a production app across Latin America. At Wolox (Accenture) I designed adaptive banking journeys for BBVA Argentina.

My current focus is the interaction between people and AI: systems that suggest or prioritize while the person stays in control. Rubik began as a personal project from that idea, applied to my own craft: that every design decision has a criterion and a source behind it.
